The Lean Forward Learning Story

Lean Forward Learning was built on a simple belief: learning unlocks opportunity. It gives people the confidence to take on new challenges, the language to share their ideas, and the tools to move their work—and their lives—forward.

Anchored by a strong belief that the most meaningful learning does more than deliver information. It connects people to possibility. It helps educators, leaders, and organizations turn complex ideas into clear action, build confidence in others, and create conditions where growth can last.

Founded by Dr. Amanda Paul, an educator, researcher, curriculum developer, and learning designer, Lean Forward Learning brings together experience across K–12, post-secondary, adult, hybrid, and e-learning environments. Amanda holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of Toronto and has spent more than a decade designing curriculum, professional learning, digital learning, and practical resources for educators, leaders, and organizations.

Her research into adult e-learning, digital skills, engagement, and learner success strengthens a simple commitment: learning should be thoughtful, accessible, and built for the realities of the people using it. Every project begins with a question: What are you trying to make possible? From there, Lean Forward Learning creates meaningful experiences and resources that help people learn forward, lead forward, and grow forward.

Expertise in Applied Learning

Dr. Paul transforms abstract concepts into pedagogical frameworks that deliver measurable results. Her approach centers on bridge-building between high-level educational theory and the day-to-day realities of digital and physical classrooms.

Instructional Design

Optimizing digital environments

We focus on constructing e-learning paths that prioritize student flow, using data-backed strategies to ensure learners stay focused, motivated, and supported from start to finish.

Capacity Building

Strengthening team competencies

By developing scalable resources and strategic systems, we help organizations cultivate their own internal expertise, ensuring educational improvements remain effective and long-lasting.

Meaningful Learning

Prioritizing depth over coverage

Our methods go beyond simple content delivery to foster deep comprehension and skill acquisition, ensuring that every course provides lasting value to both the learner and organization.

Dynamic Facilitation

Engaging groups through dialogue

We lead collaborative workshops and sessions designed to challenge current educational biases, sparking innovative thinking that translates into immediate, tangible organizational shifts.

Digital Pedagogy

Mastering the online environment

Leveraging modern technology to enhance human connection, we refine how information is consumed digitally to maximize retention and improve the overall user experience in training.

Research to Practice

Actionable evidence in motion

We specialize in distilling complex analytics and scholarly insights into practical tools, templates, and actionable workflows that educators can implement without delay or friction.

Learn Forward. Lead Forward. Grow Forward.

I believe that meaningful learning requires movement. My philosophy bridges the gap between research and practice, ensuring that educational design is evidence-informed, purposeful, and accessible. I move from ideas to implementation, supporting organizations and leaders in creating the learning environments they need to thrive.
